Am I Being Stalked?

Rise above it. Think of your blood pressure. While they are talking about you they are leaving others alone. They are not worth getting upset over. I could go on with a good few more. You get my drift. Things you tell yourself when people are playing with that big ole wooden spoon: more like JCB bucket and stirring in your life. Whispering to others behind your back. Why people? Is your life perfect? Are you bored? Or are you just spoiling for a fight? Please tell me. I am interested. Oh wait…. actually no I am not!

I have a few labels for these people. Armchair Critics. The obvious ‘back seat driver’. There are others; names I won’t say out loud but might voice in my head. What cracks me up the most is they will say, you can’t repeat this. Don’t tell them I have said anything. Why? Simply because you don’t have the stones to come and say it to my face. Because somewhere inside you know it is wrong but you just can’t help yourself. If you want to light the blue touch paper, at least hang around for the fireworks.

As I have got older I have cut most of these kinds of people out of my life. More so since my husband has got Parkinsons. Simply because I don’t need the drama, they have no concept of boundaries and they just aren’t worth my time. Sadly there are one or two I can’t disown as easily. I don’t talk to them but they sure like to talk about me and what I am doing wrong. The one who has inspired this post. Well…. I had to stay away from the keyboard until I calmed down. Honestly I have approached this from a completely different angle so I am going to blow my own trumpet. I am proud of myself. Way to go me!!

Since we shared the diagnosis this person has not once reached out to see how things are. They are close family. Well we obviously aren’t close but in the family set up its not like its a cousin three times removed. They have no concept of how our lives have changed. The one person that gives them updates gets told nothing now either. It seems that the younger generation are getting in on the act, with their own mini stirring devices. I can’t believe I am actually laughing about this. I guess it is the old adage if you don’t laugh, you cry.

The general census from this camp is that my husband and I are embellishing how bad he is. That hurts! We don’t play the system. There is nothing for us to gain by doing that. That isn’t the kind of people we are anyway. It seems we have both been seen out ‘living it large’ regularly: every week. More than once a week. So come on own up. Who cloned us? I actually feel like I am being stalked from some of the comments that have been made. I come to work, go home and that is my life. Shopping at the weekend. A trip out for us is a hospital appointment. So please who is living the good life for me? Not fair. Come and share the poop bits too!!!

I would love to be out socialising in the evenings. My 5am alarm makes that impossible. I can’t afford the costs to hire the scaffold to keep my eyes open at work. The place we allegedly have been seen in we haven’t be to in nearly a year. The person who has seen us….Its also nice to see his manners are great as not once has he come over and said hello. Then maybe he would realise its not us!! How funny would that be? Its that fly on the wall situation. When they figure it out will they admit they have it wrong? No. Sorry is not in their vocabulary.

Just on the very rare chance they see this. If you want to come walk a mile in our shoes go for it. I’ll even clean them for you. Truthfully. Don’t bother. That would mean seeing you. Sorry if that seems harsh but …. Ex
