So here we are at the end of another year. Its one of the times I do allow myself some time to be reflective. 2024 hasn’t been a great year, no better than 2023 in fact but we are here and we are still plodding on. I guess that is a bonus. I am mindful that there are people worse off than us. Hard times have been felt by many and I am proud of all of you who are still fighting on. Virtual hugs to you all.
It has not been all doom and gloom. I have hit some milestones with my business via both the online selling platform and my own website. The latest tweaks to husband tablets have made a slight difference. I will take that as a massive bonus as he is a little more mobile than he was in the middle to later stages of the year.
Usually I look at a New Year as a clean slate for plans and things to look forward to but that seems a little more difficult this year. We are still no further forward with our appointments, a couple have been moved twice and are now late in March. In all honesty it feels like the last couple of years we have been in limbo and it sucks. With all my best attempts the help we need to get answers is not forthcoming and I feel very defeatist. The options left on my list are likely to get me arrested. Don’t worry I am not going to do anything stupid. Who am I kidding; I will probably do something stupid but nothing that will get me arrested I promise.

So is 2025 going to be kind? We have a big anniversary at the start of the year; any idea of a trip away have long gone. I did want to go back and renew our vows on the beach where we got married. That is now in the same place as the plan I had for my big birthday celebration. I would have put it off one year but to reschedule three years down the line seems a bit bizarre. Not unless I can stall my age for three years? That I can be on board with. Nah, I doubt I can get away with that so maybe it can be the next big one. Hey who am I kidding hubby probably won’t be well enough to travel at that point. All we can do is make the most of the little things we can arrange. An odd weekend away it will have to be until we can finally book a proper holiday.
We have to be thankful for all the good things. We are together making the most of what we have. Top of my list is our sense of humour. I swear if we didn’t have that I think it would be a different story. Some people say I am crazy. Maybe I am a little. Its just the way I deal with things. We are all different so don’t judge me too badly. My husband is slightly nuts too. Well he must be he married me. He makes me laugh constantly.
So 2025 will probably throw more poop at us. I’ve got used to it. I would often joke with my husband at the start of each year ‘can we please have this one without you being in hospital at some point?’ It’s not happened for quite some time. We will cope; there is not much of an option to do otherwise. Will I flip my lid from time to time? Oh you can bet on it. Will there be tears? Oh for sure. We will find a way forward, become stronger and learn from it all.
What would I like to achieve next year? Well I’d like to think we can get some answers but the jury is out on that one. I’d like to hit a few more milestones with my business. I’d like this blog to reach some more people so that means I have to decided if I want to share it where family will find out as they still don’t know. Maybe I will get to work on following my dreams of writing. I’ve really enjoyed this small weekly posts so that passion is certainly there. Most of all I’d like my husband to have a better quality of life. That is my main wish for 2025. So to all you that are reading this I hope the New Year bring you all the things your heart desires but most of all that it is kind. E x
