Today has been an odd day. I can’t explain it. Nothing drastic has happened but I feel the need to pour it out so sorry tag you are it. Fridays I work from home. A real blessing I can tell you. I’m not sure I could manage being back in the office five days. Well if I did I fear my boss and I would be at the negotiating table. However that has no relevance to this.
Hubby was up early. He is still not one hundred percent after being out of sorts earlier in the week. Once hubby is up it goes hand in hand that I am up too. Sometimes I can sneak another hour but not this morning. Sleep was out of the building so I was out of bed. Fed, watered and medicated; oh dear that sounds bad. I just mean he had taken his tablets. Hubby is off to the allotment before it gets too warm. I clear my inbox and do my usual daily work tasks. Then the fancy takes to bake. Nothing untoward so far I hear you mumble. Nope pretty standard.

I signed up to a webinar for my big project. Not really expecting too much but I’d give a go. That turned out to be so useful. I watched up until the sales pitch making relevant notes for me. I felt like I had ticked some research off my list. Gained a little knowledge. Go me. Then it goes down hill. My usual weekly call to my Dad. Some Fridays I can come off that call and just cry. He still has all his faculties, well most considering he is in his 90’s. He is only just starting to struggle to get about but its like the end of the world is nigh. Today the positive energy from my research had been sucked out of me via my mobile phone. Traitor. How could you? I cleaned you this morning too!!! No loyalty!
Then I get messages from other people moaning about the most mundane things and the idiots that walk among us. Trust me they do. Now I am flat as a pancake. Motivation has checked out. I can’t settle to anything. What I really want to do is laugh. I need that situation where you can be chatting to someone and something is said. Its really stupid. Childish even and it just grabs you as funny and you start to laugh. It just escalates like an avalanche. You start to cry and heck I wouldn’t care if I snorted.
Do you know what I mean? That laughing that if some one asks what you are laughing about you can’t explain because when you stop and think about it; it makes no sense. You know they would question your sanity. That then makes you laugh some more and you are struggling to breath and holding your sides. I want that. I have not had that for such a long time. Why is that? Is everyone too stressed? Is life too complicated? I wish I knew.
Now I guess I have some options. I could get a helium balloon and see if I can turn my husband into Joe Pasquale. Mmm that has some merits but perhaps I should check with a medical professional first. I could try and find something funny on TV. That might be a long search as it seems to be quite dark on there too. Or I could just do something stupid. At this moment I have no idea what. That is my mission. To chase that moment.
I would say I’d let you know what happens but I assure you it would be pointless. It would be that ‘had to be there’ moment. That and you would probably hit the speed dial for the men in white coats for me. So if you get the chance to do something spontaneous this bank holiday weekend. Do it. Enjoy yourself. Switch off and leave the dilemmas at home. They will be there waiting when you get back but hopefully you will feel more able to cope. A little lighter. That’s the hope. I will keep my fingers crossed. Ex
